[edit] Making natural handmade soap

[edit] Step 1: Combining the goat's milk & lye.

Using the large enamel pot, combine the 10 cups of goat's milk to the 10 1/2 ounces of lye. Stir these two ingredients with a wooden spoon. While stirring this mixture it will generate heat. Once the two ingredients are thoroughly mixed one will need to let it cool down to a temperature of 85 degrees Fahrenheit.

[edit] Step 2: Adding the sodium borate & glycerine.

Once the temperature of the goat's milk and lye has reached 85 degrees Fahrenheit, the 8 teaspoons of sodium borate and 6 ounces of glycerine can be added to the mixture.

[edit] Step 3: Warm the lard and add it to the mixture.

Now that the above steps have been completed one will need to heat the 3 1/2 pounds of lard to a temperature of 90 degrees Fahrenheit. Once it reaches this temperature it can be added to the other ingredients already sitting in the enamel pan.

[edit] Step 4: Use your electric mixer to blend everything together.

An electric mixer is the best way to get this done as it beats everything mercilessly. With the electric mixer on its lowest speed, blend all of the ingredients together for a period of 15 minutes.

[edit] Step 5: Allow the mixture to stand and follow up by mixing it again.

Let the mixture stand for 5 minutes and then blend it again with the electric mixer for another period of fifteen minutes.

[edit] Step 6: Pour the mixture into the mold or pan.

Once the mixture has been blended together twice, one can add it to the pan that it will form in or to a soap mold.

[edit] Step 7: Allow it to harden.

Hardening will take around 24 hours to complete. Once the hypoallergenic soap is hardened you can remove it from the soap mold or glass pan by turning it upside down. If one prefers to cut it into smaller pieces now is the time to do so.

Storing Natural Handmade Soap: The ideal place for storage is a location that's dry as well as warm.
